Should any beads become scuffed, worn or wear out over time they are simply replaced by other beads falling into the underfoot position on the cord. The effective extra thickness of the rope through the air increases aerodynamic drag, again giving the beaded ropes a comfortable but heavier feel, allowing increased positive feedback as the ropes strikes the ground. This feed back is further enhanced by the sound of the ropes skimmimg the ground below the skippers’ feet & is a useful timing aid.
